We understand that people may have questions before visiting a church and to help you feel more comfortable here are some Frequently Asked Questions with Answers!

Worship Times

Sunday Schedule
9:00 AM - Adult Happy Half Hour. Thirty minutes for adult biblical instruction. Currently we are using video based studies to grow in our understanding of issues that followers of Christ face in their daily lives. When we complete one series we choose another. The current topic is: St. Paul's Epistles.
9:00 AM - Youth Sunday School. Thirty minute lessons for youth age Pre-K through 8th grade.
9:30 AM - Fellowship Time. A wonderful time of fellowship between adults and youth as we enjoy treats, coffee, and refreshments.
10:00 AM - Worship Service. Time to partake in the worship of our God.
             Holy Communion - 1st and 3rd Sunday's.

Wednesday Evening
7:00 PM - Most the Gospel readings this year will be from Mark so hopefully it will tie in well. It's the earliest and shortest of the four Gospels and maybe the one we hear the least about.

Bible Class

7:00 PM - Wednesday Evening Bible Study:
The book of Mark is a Gospel that contains narrative history, sermons, parables, and some prophetic oracles.  This Gospel has somewhat of an emphasis in miracles (27 total) which is significantly more than any of the other Gospels.  The key word in Mark is "immediately" which is used 34 times causing the reader to move from one account to the next rapidly.  Mark is the shortest of the synoptic gospels and was written about 64 A.D.  The key personalities of this book are Jesus Christ, His twelve disciples, Jewish religious leaders, Pilate, and John the Baptist.

FAQ's

Where is Grace Lutheran located?
We are located at the corner Park and Elm in Aurora, one block east of First Independent Bank.

Where do I enter for Worship?
There are doors on the east, south, and west sides of the church by the parking areas. You can come in any of the three entrances and each will bring you to the doors that open into our worship area. .

What time are Services?
Our regular Sunday Schedule for worship is at 10:00 a.m.

What are worship services like?
Our worship services are both reverent and joyful. They are reverent because during the service, we are meeting with the Holy God. They are joyful because this Holy God has given His Son to forgive us so that we might be His children and worship Him. We print the entire order of worship in the bulletin, so it is easy to follow.

What should I wear?
We believe God is more interested in your heart than what kind of clothes you wear. You may see some people dressed up and some in jeans or other casual attire. What's most important to us is that you are here. Dress however you feel most comfortable, and know that we won't be worrying about it.

What is available for children during worship?
We love having children worship with their families. We believe even young children can begin to grasp the worship service and that they learn more quickly to sit still and participate when they are welcomed into the sanctuary. There is a special time during the service on the second, fourth, and fifth Sunday's of the month for a Children's Message where children are invited to come forward.

We understand, however, that sitting through church is sometimes difficult and we have a cry room available if you wish to use it. The ushers will be glad to show you where it is located.
