Pastor Heitshusen is now serving Grace!
Grace has called new Pastor Daniel Heitshusen and his family to serve as the new full time pastor of Grace. Pastor was installed on July 26, 2025 and is now our full time Pastor.
Greetings in the Name of Jesus!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my family to you. My name is Daniel
Heitshusen. I spent most of my growing up years in Houston, TX, where my dad served as a pastor.
In high school, I was able to attend a variety of youth retreats as part of my church. It was on one of
these that I decidod that I wanted to pursue Church Work. But at that time, I did not know whether
to pursue the pastoral office or the auxiliary ofiice of Director of Christian Education (DCE).
After graduating high school, I attended Concordia University in Seward, NE. It was there that I
met my lovely wife, Rachel. It was also there that I came to believe God was calling me to pursue
pastoral ministry. Rachel and I graduated, got married, and moved to St. Louis where we both began
school at Concordia Seminary. During my vicarage year we found out that we were pregnant with
our wonderfui daughter, Hannah. She was born just before classes began for my last year at
Concordia Seminary.
I am excited to serve as pastor of Grace. I have long said that I love Jesus, I love people, and I love
connecting the two. That remains true today, and it is a great honor and joy to be able to bring Jesus
to you and to join you in bringing Jesus to the community.
Outside of ministry, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing games, going on walks,
reaciing, tinkering with technology, and entry-level woodworking. Rachel's greatest joy is being a stay-at-home mother to Hannah. She also loves spending time with
family, cooking, baking, reading, going on walks, and serving people. During my first three years at
the Seminary, Rachel also attended to receive her Master of Arts along with Deaconess certification,
While she is not currently serving as a Deaconess, she is excited to bring the knowledge and skills
she learned for service at Grace.
Hannah is nine months old now. She is babbling, loves to stand, and is starting to get interested in
walking. Rachel and I are looking forward to finaily having a permanent place to call "home" for
her as she grows up in Aurora.
Rachel, Hannah, and I are excited to meet you, the people of Grace Lutheran Church. We look
forward to walking together with you through life as we are together built up on the foundation of
Jesus Christ and as we together focus on how we can bring Jesus to the community. You are already
in our prayers.

Wednesday Evening, Bible Study - 5:30 PM
5:30 PM - Our Wednesday evening Bible class will begin on Wednesday, Septmeber 10 at 5:30pm. We welcome any feedback you may have about the timing, and in our first session we will discuss whether that time will work moving forward.
